Our friends at Revolutionary Gardens have a pet peeve: boring, predictable plantings to screen an undesirable view. Seems the standard recommendation is to plant a tight row of Leyland Cypress.
Effective, but boring.
Now here is what Revolutionary Gardens suggests:
They vary the types of trees and the arrangements so that the design has movement. They provide some focal points with flowering trees in the summer and a few with dramatic foliage in the fall.
No longer boring, now the landscaping is more a thoughtful, integrated part of the entire space.
